Beautiful Fatima dress from Cymbeline…

By , 3 December, 2011 2:12 pm

For many of us, buying a wedding dress is like buying a house – you just know it’s ‘the one’!
Magazines are full of such beautiful designs, but until you actually see for yourself, you’ll be surprised that what you thought you would love, you may actually prefer something completely different. I found these little beauties from Cymbeline, called Fatima (left) and Feria (right), and you can view more details on their website. Please take a look as they are so stunning, we wouldn’t want you to miss out!

Naomi Neoh Camelia 50s style dress

The 50s style wedding is becoming more and more popular. I’ve been to a couple of weddings where I’ve been completely inspired by the wonderful 50s theme. I simply had to post this silk chiffon dress I found, shown with French corded lace by Naomi Neoh, isn’t it beautiful!

Vintage table plan

By , 27 May, 2011 11:46 am

Unfortunately we don’t offer table plans at the moment, however we can make the cards for you to create your own. Using an old suitcase and some vintage style lace it’s easy. Not only does it look effective it’s different and in keeping with the vintage touch! You could pick up an old suit case from a charity or junk shop or to make it a bit more sentimental ask a relative if they have one hidden away in their loft.

Pâtisserie Laduree

Filling your favour bags with bright, colourful macarons is a fab way to keep your costs down. They seem to be very popular these days and I can see why. Crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, these tasty little delights are a real winner.

Laduree is just one place you can purchase them, along with various other sweets and chocolates www.laduree.fr or alternatively you could make them yourself:

Stylish wooden tags

Its sometimes a nice idea to personalise your wedding favours. Why not try this simple, yet effective way of doing so with some beautiful rustic wooden tags.

They can be used for pretty much anything and would look great hanging from a simple bottle on your tables or wrapped around napkins for your guests.

Eve Wedding dress

By , 23 October, 2010 1:13 pm

After walking down the local high street yesterday in Clifton, Bristol and I spotted thee most beautiful wedding dress in Phase Eight, £350.00 and it is absolutely gobsmacking. So much details and looks so expensive, I had to tell all my girlfriends that are getting married about it, really is a must see. I know its nice to spend money on the dress but you really don’t have to, there are so many dresses out there equally as nice at a fraction of the price (oh that rhymes) go, go, go and take a look!

Vera Wang tableware

Vera Wang is an incredible fashion designer from New York. She used to be a magazine editor and competitive skater, but she’s obviously branched out since then! Now, since getting married, her company specialises in bridalwear. But she doesnt only do dresses and fashion, she also designs and sells exquisite tableware and other items that would make very elegant and generous gifts. This beautiful crockery set pictured above has a lovely modern-shaped jug but it’s all still quite vintage. The photography on her website is incredible as well, check it out here: www.verawangonweddings.com

Wedding photography from a different angle

By , 22 January, 2010 11:52 pm

Wedding Photography

Your wedding photographs may become your most treasured possession in the years after your special day, so it’s worth taking the time to get them right. But you don’t have to settle for the typical contrived wedding shots. There are so many talented contemporary photographers out there who might capture a unique angle, atmosphere, scene or poignant moment that the traditional approach may miss.

Shop around for local photographers and browse for specialists online where you can check out their portfolio, but we’d suggest going with someone who’s been recommended by a friend, if possible. In fact, for my own wedding we were lucky enough to get two photographers. so we could be sure we’d get all the shots we wanted!

The example image above is from Altmix Photography in the U.S.

Driftwood Hearts…the perfect wedding gift!

By , 29 December, 2009 10:59 am

Driftwood heart

I had a lovely surprise this Christmas when I received one of these driftwood hearts from my auntie and then found out that she made it herself.   When I looked on the internet they’re actually very popular and pretty expensive.  This equivalent is from www. bythesea.co.uk who supply some fabulous gifts and jewellery.  You can also pick one of these up from Karen Millar – Devon Driftwood Designs Ltd.  All great for that perfect wedding gift!
