Bristol Vintage

By , 23 June, 2011 2:04 pm

I always like to blog about local companies so when I found Bristol Vintage I just had to broadcast it. It has everything you need from crockery, bunting, jugs of wild flowers and even wind-up gramophones to make your day a day to remember. They cover the whole of the south west co-founded by Ali Cook & Katie Daniels.  Between them they have over 10 years experience organising boutique events, weddings, parties and film premieres.  A really beautiful website and look out for SlaterSparke Ltd on their blog!

Beautiful and so Simple!

By , 15 August, 2010 10:24 am

Yet more DIY wedding inspiration. Simple colourful flowers in some vintage vase jugs can look so stylish as your centre pieces, or dotted around the garden for that summer wedding. The flowers you wouldn’t even need to buy from a florist, any fresh flowers would look nice from your local M&S. Remember to buy them on the morning of your wedding to guarantee they are freshly cut the day before, so will last that little bit longer!

The bird cage

It’s always useful to have something on a table for your guests to leave their wedding cards. Why not try this idea, a bird cage, which looks not only vintage but a little different as well. Bird cages have also been very popular as centre pieces for the tables. You can add candles or flowers to complete the look.

Beautiful wedding bouquets for beautiful brides.

Bouquets Bouquet

Here are a couple of beautiful bouquets I found after a quick browse of the internet.  I loved the originality of the tulips - they almost look like sweets and will go with any theme or colour.

My favorite flowers are hydrangeas, roses and peonies so I couldn’t help sharing this bouquet as well. Without the peonies its still very fresh and again will suit any colour or theme, but I see some lovely green bridesmaids dresses going perfectly with either of these wonderful bouquets!

The bouquets above we’re found at Petals Floral Designs.

So simple but so beautiful…

Another lovely touch is a few flowers placed in a teacup & saucer for a real effective table decoration along with candles and favours to finish it off.  The teacup and saucers you can find in charity shops in your local area.

Its all about the flowers!

There are so many lovely flower bouquets out there.   I can remember finding it so hard to decide what to choose on my wedding day.  Above is just a little idea of a simple but beautiful bouquet which has a very vintage feel and would go with any theme.
