Macaroons, love them!

By , 7 September, 2011 9:37 am

After watching the Great British Bake off last night I
just couldn’t resist advertising these wonderful, tasty little delights. My mum
used to make them all the time, filled with either butter cream or ganache,
pink, purple or blue, either way they are delicious and a stylish touch to your
wedding. You could even pack them up as wedding favours or cake tower, it’s
endless!

Add a little sweet touch…

By , 14 June, 2011 1:08 pm

…to your napkins or menus to double up as a favour, it looks really colourful and quite an exciting thing to receive. Let’s face it, most of us haven’t had a candy necklace for years, bring back the child in you and fling them at each other just like old times.

Pâtisserie Laduree

Filling your favour bags with bright, colourful macarons is a fab way to keep your costs down. They seem to be very popular these days and I can see why. Crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, these tasty little delights are a real winner.

Laduree is just one place you can purchase them, along with various other sweets and chocolates www.laduree.fr or alternatively you could make them yourself:

Stylish wooden tags

By , 30 January, 2011 5:58 pm

Its sometimes a nice idea to personalise your wedding favours. Why not try this simple, yet effective way of doing so with some beautiful rustic wooden tags.

They can be used for pretty much anything and would look great hanging from a simple bottle on your tables or wrapped around napkins for your guests.

Sweets Galore

There’s still a child in all of us, so why don’t you treat your guests to a table to sweet delights rather than the traditional wedding favours! Simply place an empty bag on each table and let your guests fill up at their own leisure. I went to a wedding recently that did exactly this, it was so much fun and the kids loved it too!

I couldn’t resist

I couldn’t resist adding these sweet favour boxes on my style blog.  The colouring is the same as our signature logo and I can imagine them to look really effective as favours placed on the tables.  You could pretty much offer what you like inside.  You could also customise to reflect your special day…spot on I reckon.

Cupcake Favours as an alternative to a wedding cake…its possible…

By , 24 January, 2010 9:05 am

Some people would rather not have a wedding cake.  Although its nice to capture that moment of you both cutting the cake its sometimes nice to do something a bit different.  I found a great alternative…these cupcakes all wraped beautifully and customised to suit.  A really great idea, and if your guests are too tipsy to remember your cake,  instead they can  take it home and enjoy it the following day…perfect!

Adding a little tag goes a long way…

DIY tags

I always think its nice to add a personal touch to your wedding favours.  Even if its adding a simple antique-style tag like these pictured above (image from www.nothingbutbonfires.com).

You can stain your own tags to make them look older by dipping them in tea to give them that rustic look, they look really effective and so cheap to do.  Why not give it a go!

Not just another favour!

Favour

I know I talk about it a lot but I can’t help finding new inspirations for the perfect favour!  What could be more useful for your male and female guests…these customised lip salves, absolutely spot on!!  Will get your guests remembering your special day for years.  I know at the bottom of my bag I have one knocking around for some time, its just the job and not overly expensive!  Please don’t settle for the easy option,  do your research, or check my blog out, we’re full of ideas!

A sweet tooth!

Choosing your favours can be really difficult.  So difficult in fact I didn’t worry about giving favours to the guys at all, because I just couldn’t find anything that would look nice on the table, and wouldn’t cost the earth.  I presented the ladies with a customised fan, luckily the weather was scorching so they were used which was so lovely and looked great in my photos.  If I was to have a autumn/winter wedding, these toffee apples wrapped in a clear bag presented with a label are really effective and taste delicious too. These are an excellent choice and look that little bit more  masculin for the fellas on the day, washed down with a rich glass of mulled wine…laverly!

Cookies…yum!

Its always nice to give your guests a little something as a favour on your wedding day and how we all love something sweet to get the old tastebuds going.  Something easy for you to get together with friends would be to make you’re own,  like these cookies in clear bags above, finished off with brightly coloured ribbon.  All these things make such a difference and a real personal tough to your special day!

Bah Humbugs. And lollies!

By , 11 June, 2009 12:15 pm
There’s always the problem of what to give the little ones on your wedding day. Cuddly toys, bubbles, things that make far too much noise that could put grandma into a mild state of shock! Why not keep them quiet with a nice colourful lolly on a stick, also great for favours for us older folk, there’s nothing quite like being a kid again!
