Unfortunately we don’t offer table plans at the moment, however we can make the cards for you to create your own. Using an old suitcase and some vintage style lace it’s easy. Not only does it look effective it’s different and in keeping with the vintage touch! You could pick up an old suit case from a charity or junk shop or to make it a bit more sentimental ask a relative if they have one hidden away in their loft.

Tissue PaperPom Poms

These tissue paper pom poms are a great way to jazz up a room. You can hang them from the ceiling or simply scatter them on tables. Its nice to match pom poms with your colour theme, they look fab and again easy to make and of course cheap!

Inspiration from interiors

I’ve just spent the evening thumbing through this amazing new book called ‘The Way We Live With The Things We Love’ from Thames & Hudson. The publisher have brought out some amazing books on style from around the world, and this is no exception. Every page is crammed with glossy photographs of rooms full of eccentric bric-a-brac, rustic ornaments, beautiful old-fashioned pictures, art, funky furniture and quirky antiques. I especially like the little flea market finds from various parts of Europe - amazing objects that are totally unique. Only problem is, I won’t find any of this on the high street so I’ll have to keep searching the flea markets and hope I can find my own little treasures!

Driftwood Hearts…the perfect wedding gift!

I had a lovely surprise this Christmas when I received one of these driftwood hearts from my auntie and then found out that she made it herself. When I looked on the internet they’re actually very popular and pretty expensive. This equivalent is from www. bythesea.co.uk who supply some fabulous gifts and jewellery. Mumblepeg is the creation of artist, Nancy Palmer. In the 1970′s Nancy’s mother taught her how to knit, crochet and sew- which she shortly thereafter gave up due to impatience. Many years later, with a desire to engage in creative acts that offered a more tactile experience than a mouse click, she returned to the needle arts with a passion.
All of the goods at Mumblepeg are one-of-a-kind or few-of-a-kind depending on availability of materials. Nancy’s mission is to bring a few warm and cozy treasures into the world that look good enough to eat.

Ann Wood Handmade

Ann’s birds are either one of a kind or in very small quantities. They are made from mostly vintage and antique fabrics and garments. A beautiful edwardian gown inspired my very first birds and you can see a picture of a victorian wedding dress that’s being incorporated into caketoppers. The birds are stuffed with wool and are approximately 3 and 1/2 inches tall. All birds come with a name tag and in a fancy box.

Cord card, Dark red ribbon, a single diamante heart and ribbed wire are the unlikely ingredients that make up ‘Brown Sugar’. This is the very latest design to be added to the SlaterSparke invitation collection (I literally added the finishing touches yesterday!) and has already become one of my favourites.

New Invitation Designs!

I’m pleased to announce several new designs that will be added to the SlaterSparke range over the next week. The design pictured on the left,

has been given the name ‘Crown Royal’ and I think it’s perfect for a traditional or formal wedding invitiation. Its clean and fresh look was inspired by Victorian clothing that I saw at a vintage fabric fayre in Bath. I hope you love it as much as I do!
