Choosing your favours can be really difficult. So difficult in fact I didn’t worry about giving favours to the guys at all, because I just couldn’t find anything that would look nice on the table, and wouldn’t cost the earth. I presented the ladies with a customised fan, luckily the weather was scorching so they were used which was so lovely and looked great in my photos. If I was to have a autumn/winter wedding, these toffee apples wrapped in a clear bag presented with a label are really effective and taste delicious too. These are an excellent choice and look that little bit more masculin for the fellas on the day, washed down with a rich glass of mulled wine…laverly!

Why not choose something quirky to add a little 1950′s touch to your wedding. This headpiece is so pretty, when I saw them I wish I’d worn one on my wedding day. It really is beautiful…and looks fab with the bright red lips as well. Very sassy!
Another popular retro theme is the 1920′s where long gloves, boas, flapper dresses and full lips can give you an elegant and highly original wedding day. My 30th birthday party had the same theme and it was so much fun. My sister managed to raid my nan’s attic and pulled out a 100 year old fully-sequined dress. It was so heavy, it reminded me of my wedding dress and all the memories came flooding back!

I remember my first wedding fayre when I saw these wedding annuals. I thought it was so amazing I knew this was what we wanted and would work perfectly for us. My wonderful dad put one together for us as a surprise when we came back from our honeymoon so as you can imagine I was absolutely thrilled. It has a prime spot in my lounge so all my friends can see it anytime! It seems to be pretty popular now to have one of these and I highly recommend it.

Anything goes now days when it comes to wedding and engagement rings. There are so many options its so difficult to choose. When it comes down to it, these are the rings you will be spending the rest of your life wearing so really it should be the most important thing out of everything. I choose a more eternity style ring which fits lovely with a plain wedding band. I found this matching pair above, which I think look just beautiful together. If you’re going for the vintage theme, why not try some local antique shops for your perfect find!

Not On The High Street is a great place to look for wedding gifts. They have some great ideas for really unique pressies for you and your wedding party. I’ve bought some lovely things from here, including these items above, which can brighten up any room and have become a talking point with my friends who visit. Take a break from the high street and find something unique and special for yourself.

Now ladies, although you guests don’t see rock up at your location on the day of your wedding, imagine the fab photos the photographer can capture for them to see over a glass or two a few weeks later! It really is important to get everything just right and unfortunately, boring as it sounds transport is one of them! A camper van, old car or just uncle Jim’s Jag that’s been stuck in the garage for years, you want to arrive in style! So make sure you get it just right…

I remember having a bit of a nightmare when it came to getting my wedding shoes, simply because of the size of the heel. I wanted something I would feel comfortable in but something with a little height to make me feel taller & of course slimmer. There are so many lovely shoes out there and we all think its not that important as you don’t really see them but after walking round half the day holding that wonderful dress up to your ankles, trust me you do and people do comment on how nice the shoes are! So ladies don’t settle for the first ones you see, do a bit of window shopping first!

Everyone’s talking about ‘Cool Britannia’ at the moment, last time I heard that phrase was when Oasis and Blur we’re first in the charts and its made its way around once more! There are so many wonderful union jack items out there. I’ve recently bought a lovely union jack cushion from John Lewis for £28 but you can pick them up from all over the place. Get the look from, Jan Constantine, Not on the high street, Etsy and many more, just trawl the internet and find your touch of patriotism!

There are so many beautiful wedding dresses out there its a minefield trying to choose the perfect one for you. I remember when I was looking I really struggled, but believe it or not it is like buying a house, when you try the perfect one on, you just know! Once you’ve finally chosen the right one, everything else just falls into place. Whether it be 1950′s style, traditional or vintage the theme usually revolves around the dress so its very important to get the right one.

Its always nice to give your guests a little something as a favour on your wedding day and how we all love something sweet to get the old tastebuds going. Something easy for you to get together with friends would be to make you’re own, like these cookies in clear bags above, finished off with brightly coloured ribbon. All these things make such a difference and a real personal tough to your special day!

Another lovely touch is a few flowers placed in a teacup & saucer for a real effective table decoration along with candles and favours to finish it off. The teacup and saucers you can find in charity shops in your local area.

There are so many lovely flower bouquets out there. I can remember finding it so hard to decide what to choose on my wedding day. Above is just a little idea of a simple but beautiful bouquet which has a very vintage feel and would go with any theme.

If you’ve gone for that ever popular vintage style wedding, why not choose a vintage style dress to match. Off whites and antique style flowers look really beautiful and there are so many wonderful places to buy accessories to finish the overall look off!

As an alternative to a stately home or a marquee why not go for something a little different like a teepee and make your wedding into a small festival! There are many websites out there offering this service at reasonable prices and they look wonderful dressed with flowers, fairy lights and favours…

If you haven’t already chosen the style and theme of your wedding why not try something a little vintage with this beautiful crockery from the ‘Vintage Crockery Company’. Alternatively why not spend time trawling the charity shops like my friend George is for the same effect for half the price! The final result looks so pretty, why not drop in a tea light and it makes the most elegant look for your tables!

I recently purchased a ‘Peace’ and ‘Love’ cushion from this fabulous website and they have finished off my lounge perfectly, I’m so impressed with the quailty as well, simply divine!
